e-CYCLE for Home Users

Toshiba is focused on building laptops in an environmentally sustainable way. Toshiba is also concerned about what happens to our laptops when they reach the end of their useful lives.

There are two reasons for this:

  1. There is growing concern about the environmental impact of dumping large quantities of electronic products into landfill.
  2. It is a terrible waste, as most of the materials in a laptop and its accessories can be re-used or recycled.

That is why we are making it as easy and inexpensive as possible to recycle old Toshiba Laptops.

There is a couple of ways to do this:

Want to drop off your old equipment (no charge)*?

You can bring unwanted Toshiba laptops (including batteries) to a Toshiba MobileCare or ProCare Service Centre in Australia or New Zealand. Just fill in an Equipment Disposal Agreement and then drop off your equipment in the recycling bin in the lobby and we will take care of it at no charge.

For your nearest drop-off point, visit the Service Centre's page or call 13 30 70. If you are in an area that does not have a collection point, you can even post your equipment to us (along with a completed Equipment Disposal Agreement) and we will take care of it. Please note: a handling fee will apply if you drop off or post a non-Toshiba laptop. This covers the cost of shipping and recycling.

Want us to pick up your old equipment*?

If you prefer, we can arrange a courier to collect your equipment. To cover pickup, shipping and recycling, we will need to charge a flat fee of $10 plus $13 per item in metropolitan areas or $16 if you are more than 40 km away from your capital city (credit card payments only).

*As you would expect, some terms and conditions apply. It is important that you understand and accept the terms and conditions (or complete the Equipment Disposal Agreement) you participate in the Toshiba e-CYCLE program. What happens to your old laptop?

To ensure that laptops, monitors and other equipment are disposed of in accordance with best environmental practice and government guidelines, Toshiba partners with MRI Australia, a professional recycling company.

MRI Australia offers an innovative refurbishment, re-marketing and recycling program. Equipment that cannot be re-used is dismantled for recycling at Environmental Protection Authority licensed and ISO certified facilities. These processes currently result in nearly 100 per cent of Toshiba laptops (by weight) being diverted from landfill.
