I cannot burn with the Windows CD writing software.

To enable windows recording functionality use the following:

Click Start -> My Computer -> right click D: and select Properties, select the Recording tab and tick the Enable CD recording box , and click OK to apply changes.

NOTE: This functionality does not support DVD recording and only for CD-RW type discs.
Toshiba recommends using one of the following applications depending on the model of your notebook:

Please utilize the preinstalled software on your system called Sonic Record Now or Toshiba Disc Creator. These programs can be accessed by:

To access Sonic Record Now

a. Click Start -> All Programs -> Sonic -> Record Now -> Record Now

To access Toshiba Disk Creator

b. Click Start -> All Programs -> Toshiba -> CD&DVD Applications -> Disc Creator
