Security updates for “Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba” and “TOSHIBA Service Station”

Toshiba Australia Pty Ltd (“Toshiba”) has released security updates to address vulnerabilities in “Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba” and “TOSHIBA Service Station.” Toshiba recommends that all affected users update their PC’s software as described below to address these security vulnerabilities.

Summary
Vulnerabilities potentially could allow an attacker to take unauthorized control of the affected PC. Consequently, potentially malicious programs may be installed or stored data may be revised or deleted.

Affected software versions

• Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba

v9.10.27(T) and earlier versions

NOTE: Even if “Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba” is not pre-installed into your PC, “Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba” may be installed in connection with other Bluetooth equipment, such as a Bluetooth adapter. In this case, the version # may not include “(T)”.

• TOSHIBA Service Station

v2.2.13 and earlier versions

The method of determining which version of “Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba” and/or “TOSHIBA Service Station” is installed on your PC may vary according to the installed operating system. Please see below for additional information.

Toshiba recommends that all affected users update their PC’s software to address these security vulnerabilities by visiting our website's download page.

Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba v9.10.32(T)
TOSHIBA Service Station v2.2.14

Windows 8.1 OS

1. Open Start by swiping in from the lower-right edge of the screen and then tapping Start.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Access Uninstall or change program in the Windows Control Panel.
4. If you do not see the affected software in the list of programs, you do NOT need to proceed further.

Windows 8 OS

1. Open Start by swiping in from the lower-right edge of the screen and then tapping Start.
2. Tap Settings.
